Born and raised in Newnan, GA, Michael Glover frequently visited Jekyll Island and St. Simons Island in his childhood and has many fond memories of the area.  He graduated with a degree in Hospitality Management from Ole Miss in 2006. He began his career in hotel management, which led him to work in locations around the country such as New Orleans, Atlanta, San Francisco, Savannah, Park City, and Santa Barbara. After years of being away from the South, Michael began looking for opportunities along the East Coast to bring him closer to family and friends permanently. In early 2021 he saw that the Jekyll Beverage Center was looking for new ownership. Michael, anxious not to let the opportunity pass him by, immediately expressed interest with the previous owner and hopped on a flight from California. When he arrived on Jekyll after many years away, Michael was impressed by the growth and development on the island and in the Beach Village, and instantly fell in love with the store and its location. Instantly falling in love with the store and its location, he knew this was the right move for him and his wife. Knowing he could transition his experience in hospitality to the alcohol retail business, Michael decided he was ready to take on the venture. In May 2021, Michael officially became the new owner/operator of the Jekyll Beverage Center.

Michael and his wife Mary Catherine live in St. Simons and share a passion for college football, live music, travel, cooking, drinking fine wines, and visiting family and friends in all of their old stomping grounds.
